The brown-chested alethe is a short-tailed forest ground thrush with a restricted range west of the Rift Valley. The upper two birds were seen in the Kakamega Forest-Kenya, 7-18 & 1-23), courtesy of Per Holmen; the 3rd row bird, also Kakamega Forest (9-16) All other photos were taken in Minziro Forest: the middle four photos (8-06); and the bottom two (1-16).
