The red-eyed dove has a dark red iris and the eye is surrounded by a small patch of maroon skin. These images were taken in Olasiti (upper & 2nd row left, 9-06), Tarangire (2nd row right, 7-10), and Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda (3rd row, 2-10). The immature (brown eyes) was seen in Fort Portal, Uganda (bottom, 2-10). The Uganda images are courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst.
