Aquila pennatus

The booted eagle in the upper two images was seen in Tarangire in June 2002. The middle image of a pale morph in flight was seen at Mambo Viewpoint (10-11), courtesy of Valéry Schollaert. The lower bird was also seen at Mambo (12-11), courtesy of Stein Ø. Nilsen. It is both an intra-african and palearctic migrant, feeding mainly on smaller birds. To read more, click here.
