MacKinnon's fiscal is a grey-backed fiscal with prominent white scapulars and no white patch in the primaries. Its Tanzanian range is an area west and southwest of Lake Victoria. The females (note chestnut flank) were seen at Lake Bulera (Musanze/Ruhengeri) in September 2009 (right middle), Buhanga Forest in January 2006 (lower left), both courtesy of Marcell Claassen, and Lake Bunyonyi in February 2010, courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst.
