Larger than the lesser flamingo, the greater flamingo is readily identified by its pink bill with black tip, grey with black tip in the immature. Usually seen on alkaline lakes, it can be found on fresh water and along the coast. Most of these images were taken at Ndutu in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Makat, on the south shore of Lake Natron.
