One field guide describes the vulturine guineafowl as 'distinctive and beautiful', another as 'tall and elegant', and a third as 'bizarre'. Not shown on the field guide maps, its range extends arc-like from Mkomazi to southern Tarangire, east of the Rift; most of the photos above and the video were taken in south Tarangire, Makame, Kimottoro-Maasai Steppe, and Mkungunero.
