One field guide describes the vulturine guineafowl as 'distinctive and beautiful', another as 'tall and elegant', and a third as 'bizarre'. Not shown on the field guide maps, its range extends arc-like from Mkomazi to southern Tarangire, see images 7 - 9 in the slideshow; the image below was also taken in southern Tarangire in September 2010.
