The greater sand plover is a palearctic migrant present in East Africa from August to May. The top photo was taken at Emayani (10-14). The flight photos were taken at Emayani in March 2011, courtesy of Paul Oliver and the middle photos, at Pangani (2-11), courtesy of Valéry Schollaert. The panorama includes several greater sand plovers and was taken at Pembe Abwe (9-06). The right lower photo with a greenshank was taken at Pembe Abwe (10-06); the 5th row photo (Bagamoyo, 1-16) and the left lower (Pangani, 12-14), are courtesy of Per Holmen.
