The black-backed barbet (local race: macclounii), found in western Tanzania, is endemic to central Africa and usually seen in riverine woodland. These photos were taken in Biharam, Isunkaviola, and between Nyakanazi and Biharamulo. The left 2nd row photo is courtesy of Ester Anthony.
