The black-tailed godwit is a large palearctic wader with a long bill that has a prominent pink base. All of the upper birds were photographed in Yaida Valley in September 2007. The lower image was taken at Lake Naivasha (Kenya) in February 2012, courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst.
