These images of greater kestrels show the plain pale rufous head which lacks a malar stripe. The barring on the back, the neck streaking and white eye are clearly visible. The left image was taken at Lemuta (Ngorongoro Conservation Area) in March 2009 The right bird was seen in the Gol Kopjes in the Serengeti in January 2007, courtesy of Paul Oliver; click the image to see more.
