The black-shouldered nightjar, similar to the fiery--necked nightjar, has a central and western Arrica distribution and is uncommon along the northwestern border of Tanzania. This bird was photographed in Rusumo (6-11), courtesy of Jason Anderson and the adjacent map shows the location of the photograph.
