The mountain oriole, also called montane oriole or black-tailed oriole, is an east African endemic, uncommon in Tanzania in the higher elevations of the northwest. Similar to the black-headed oriole, the upper side of the central tail feathers is black (not shown) instead of olive green. The upper and left 2nd row birds were seen in the Castle Forest-Kenya, courtesy of Per Holmen; the right 2nd row, in the Nyungwe Forest-Rwanda, courtesy of Jason Anderson.
