The Abyssinian scimitarbill is a northeast African endemic wood-hoopoe. The orange bill, glossy blue-black color and absence of white in the wings are characteristic. The right upper immature was seen in Napilokonya (8-14); note the brown bill. The other photos were taken in Tarangire (left upper, 12-06; lower four photos, 4-04).
