The Tsavo sunbird is an east African endemic similar to the purple-banded sunbird; however, it has a narrower purple breast band (sometimes absent) and a smaller bill. The upper bird was seen in Kidapash-Shambarai (1-22). The left 2nd row bird was seen in the Maasai steppe (4-20), courtesy of Per Holmen. The netted pair was photographed at Landanai (Maasai Steppe, 4-09), courtesy of Paul Oliver. Click the male to see 11 enlargements.
