The African black swift is dark brown/black with a pale white throat and a lighter patch on the inner upper wing that contrasts with the darker body and distal wing. The left 2nd row photo was taken at Lukuba (9-10), courtesy of Valéry Schollaert. The bottom birds were photographed in Tarangire NP (6-12); all of the other photos were taken at Ngorongoro Crater (7-14).
