The gull-billed tern is a palearctic migrant in East Africa from August to April. The non-breeding bird in the upper two images was photographed in Pembe Abwe in January 2008. The middle bird was photographed at Lake Albert (Uganda) in January 2010, courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst.
