The white-cheeked tern is distinguished from the common terns in these photos by the greyer wings, back and underparts. The upper images were taken at Maziwi sandbar in January 2009: click the left image to see the larger photo from which these cutouts were made. The middle images were taken at Pembe Abwe in March 2010 and the lower image was taken at Maziwi sandbar in March 2009, courtesy of Ole Krogh.
