The white eye is one feature that distinguishes the female northern brown-throated weaver (right lower image) from the otherwise similar female yellow-backed weaver. The top bird was in the Serengeti. The left 3rd row bird was seen on Lukuba Island (1-14); the right 3rd row, at Speke's Bay, courtesy of Paul Oliver.
