The black coucal is the smallest Tanzanian coucal. Its habitat is tall grassland, swamps and coastal lowlands. The left upper photo was taken in Tarangire NP, courtesy of Riaan Marais. The right upper juvenile (Mkomazi) is courtesy of Bob Kasworm. The right 2nd row bird was seen at Mwera. The let lower juvenile was seen in the Serengeti (Seronera).
