The namaqua dove is a small (25 cm) dove with a long, tapered tail, usually seen in dry bushed and treed country. The upper photo of a male, female and an immature (Tarangire) is courtesy of Stuart Webb. The 4th row female (Maasai Steppe) is courtesy of Frank Priscus Shirima. The 2nd and left 3rd row photos are females; the lower right, an immature; the lower left, a subadult; the others are males. The photos were taken in Tarangire, Shambarei, and Lake Manyara.
