The Mascarene martin is an uncommon visitor to the East African coast, rarely inland, from Madagascar and possibly Mauritius and Reunion. The all brown upper parts (head lighter than the back) contrast with the streaked white breast. The upper photo was taken at the Bagamoyo salt flats (10-13), courtesy of Riaan Marais; the others, in Mantadia NP (Madagascar, 9-13), courtesy of David Bygott.
