The black-shouldered nightjar, similar to the fiery--necked nightjar, has a central and western Arrica distribution and is uncommon along the northwestern border of Tanzania. This bird was photographed in Rusumo, courtesy of Jason Anderson and the adjacent map shows the location of the photograph.
