The mountain oriole, also called montane oriole or black-tailed oriole, is an east African endemic, uncommon in Tanzania in the higher elevations of the northwest. Similar to the black-headed oriole, the upper side of the central tail feathers is black instead of olive green. The upper two and left 3rd row birds were seen in the Castle Forest-Kenya, courtesy of Per Holmen; the right 3rd row, in the Nyungwe Forest-Rwanda, courtesy of Jason Anderson. |
