Meyer's Parrot

The adult Meyer's, formerly brown, parrot has yellow band across the forehead and yellow shoulders. A yellow underwing patch shows in flight. The 3rd row photo is courtesy of Amos Pampy Hardecker. In the enlargement photos #9-13 the pair was excavating a nest cavity. They traded places approximatelyevery 10 minutes. When time was up, the one inside would fly out and give a single note call; the other would then fly to the nest, go inside and the cycle would repeat.
