The Tsavo sunbird is an east African endemic similar to the purple-banded sunbird; however, it has a narrower purple breast band (sometimes absent) and a smaller bill. The upper bird was seen in Kidapash-Shambarai; the 2nd row, at Nyumba ya Mungu, courtesy of Per Holmen; the 3rd & 4th row juvenile and female were at Mererani and Tarangire, courtesy of Frank Priscus Shirima.
