The white-headed buffalo-weaver is a northeastern Africa endemic. The Tanzanian race boehmi has a black tail. The nominate race in Kenya has a brown tail, but note the colour of the tail in the first slideshow image from Tarangire. The image above was made by Steve Kraus in the Serengeti in June 2008.
