Home Alphabetical Maps Taxonomic Links/Resources

The reed or long-tailed cormorant is found throughout Tanzania on sheltered waterways. Most of these images were taken at Lake Duluti, a small lake surrounded by steep banks and thick brush, and at Pembe Abwe along a small stream that flows to the ocean. The upper 2 photos were taken at Lukuba (1-14); the third row photo, in the Okavango delta (3-16). The adult pair was seen in Yaida Valley (12-07) and the immature, at Pembe Abwe (12-07).
