The African black duck above was photographed by Gian Schachenmann in Arusha NP in December 2004. Click the image to see several enlargements. The pattern of white barring on the wings is individually unique and, as Dr. Hansen's images show, depending on the light, the color on the wing panels shows green or blue. |
