The grassland or African pipit is the most common pipit in Tanzania. In flight the white outer tail feathers are one feature that separates it from the long-billed pipit whose outer tail feathers show buff. The left upper bird was seen at Lake Manyara (7-12); the others, at Engikaret (right upper, 4-06 & 3-10).
