Otus senegalensis
Home Alphabetical Taxonomic Comments

The typical African scops-owl is largely grey mixed with white and brown, as in most of these images. Image #3 is of a rufous-brown bird and some of the other images show birds with varying degrees of rufous color. It is usually seen in drier bush country. The upper bird was seen in Tarangire (1-12), courtesy of Chris Moses. The lower bird was also seen in Tarangrire (6-09); click the image to see more.
