The cardinal quelea is seasonally common after rains in north and central Tanzania (see maps). The upper two photos were taken in Ruaha (1-12), courtesy of Stuart Webb.The female was at Mwiba (3-18). The other photos were taken in Tarangire (4-04). Click the photo above to see 9 enlargements including a non-breeding male, females and a mixed flock of queleas.
