The ruff is a common palearctic migrant, seen on fresh and alkaline lakes. Note the distally decurved bill and the marked scaling. The upper bird was seen in Arusha NP (2-11) and the lower bird, in Ngorongoro Crater (3-08). Click the lower image to see more. |
