The white-browed sparrow-weavers photographed in Mikumi and Selous are race pectoralis, showing small black marks across the breast. The birds seen on the Asogati Plain (images 10-13) are race melanorhynchus which lacks the small breast marks but does show a larger single dark mark at each side of the upper breast. The slideshow includes a leucistic bird (image 16).
