The grassland or African pipit is the most common pipit in Tanzania. In flight the white outer tail feathers are one feature that separates it from the long-billed pipit whose outer tail feathers show buff. The 2nd row bird was at Sumbawanga. The bird with nest material was seen at Simba Farm on West Kilimanjaro, courtesy of Michael Harris. The left 3rd row photo was taken at Lake Manyara; the others, at Engikaret.
