Most of the slideshow images of Kittlitz's plover were made while the birds were foraging at the edge of Lake Magadi in Ngorongoro Crater (click image to see slideshow). Most are in breeding plumage with the characteristic dark black head markings which are replaced in non-breeding season with sepia color. Both images above were taken at Ndutu (5-07). |
