Most of the slideshow images of Kittlitz's plover were made while the birds were foraging at the edge of Lake Magadi in Ngorongoro Crater . Most are in breeding plumage with the characteristic dark black head markings which are replaced in non-breeding season with sepia color. The flock in flight was seen at Lake Manyara, courtesy of Paul Oliver. The 5th row bird was seen on the Laikipia Plateau-Kenya, courtesy of Karine Van der Vurst.
