The Usambara akalat is a Tanzanian endemic, localized in the west Usambara mountains. It inhabits undergrowth at higher elevations. This bird was photographed in October 2011, courtesy of Valéry Schollaert. Note the larger white and smaller rufous spots in front of the eye and the rufous wash on the tail. |
