The Uhehe fiscal is endemic to the southern Eastern Arc Mountains. The features that separate it from the southern (common) fiscal are the white supercilium and more white on the lower back and rump. As part of a recent reclassification of the common fiscal, the Uhehe fiscal is now considered a subspecies of the southern fiscal; to read more, click here. We have maintained a separate page for the Uhehe fiscal because of its phenotypic differences from the southern fiscal. The lower images of an adult feeding grasshoppers and ground worms to chicks in nest were taken in October 2009 near Kiponzelo, courtesy of David Lloyd-Jones. The other birds were photographed in April 2009 in Kitemere (upper right), Rubehos Mountains (middle left) and Ibaga/Makete.
