The common moorhen (33 cm) is smaller than the lesser moorhen (23 cm). The upper images were made in the Serengeti (2-08) and are courtesy of Fain Zimmerman (right) and Steve Dolberg. The immature (left 3rd row) was seen in Tarangire (7-10). The other common moorhens were all seen in Ngorongoro crater (2nd row 10-10, right 3rd row 3-09, lower 1-11).
